Wednesday Sept 26 - IAC, Coalition For World Peace, and others
Friday Sept 28 - Interfaith Communities | Friday Sept 28 - Stop The War Coalition
Friday Sept 28 - Students
| Friday Sept 28 - Long Beach

Meetings are being called to plan action as the community moves to form a vehicle to express its opposition to war. Many groups support de-escalation of the violence which is leading us into an unimaginable catastrophe. War has proven itself a failure in the provision of security for the people of the United States and the world. No one is safe in a world of violence.

This web site provides announcements and information that has been discussed by Coalition For World Peace member representatives. We do not necessarily endorse the meetings herein announced.

War won't end terrorism. We need to decide that we will not go to war, because whatever reason is conjured up by the politicians or the media, war in our time is always indiscriminate, a war against innocents, a war against children, and all living things.

Join a massive Stop The War protest and send a message:

Protect Our Civil Liberties As Global Citizens

No Government Bigotry Or Any Kind Of Attacks Against Immigrants

Peace Meeting
The Long Beach Area Peace Network

Friday, September 28, 2001
6 to 7 potluck
7 to 9 meeting

318 Orizaba Avenue Long Beach, CA 90814
562 438-6505

The Long Beach Area Peace Network (LBAPN, pronounced "l'boppin") will hold one of its irregular meetings this Friday, September 28, at Gene Ruyle's house. In addition to enjoying pizza and Gene's famous salad, the purpose of the meeting is to discuss how we can best continue our struggle for peace and justice in the aftermath of the September 11 bombings of the WTC and the Pentagon.

We hope to have updates on the court situation of the May Day arrestees as well as discussion of our concerns and actions following the July 4 demonstration. We also hope to share information on various peace activities in the area (and plans for a teach-in at CSULB).

DIRECTIONS: Here's the directions to 318 Orizaba: take the Long Beach (710) freeway to downtown Long Beach, take the Broadway exit (left exit) and proceed east on Broadway; after about a mile, Broadway will veer off a little to the right, you can follow Broadway or turn left (on Alamitos), and go up a block to the light on Third Street, turn right on Third (Third is probably quicker, less traffic and fewer lights than Broadway). Continue east on Third about another two miles, past two stop lights and two stop signs. Proceed to a third stop sign, which will be Orizaba. Turn left onto Orizaba, and my house (318 Orizaba) is up about half a block on the right. If you get totally lost, call 438-6505 & I'll guide you in.
